My Obsequious

We stare at the moon and the moon stares back
Seeing all, the pain and the pleasure
Yet it's closer to some
While out of reach of another

Captivated by the crescent and the circle
Oh how I love the moon
All my heart desires is to bask in its glow
To confess my passion and obsession,
To profess my world revolves around my moon

Even during the light of the day,
My joys and sorrows are incarcerated by the night.
Head and heart crave only for
My toran out of this sublunary world.

What I wouldn't relinquish to be with my moon
To love my moon, to see her glow brighter

I would travel miles, transcend space and time
I've built my rockets, tailored my spacesuit
I've started and ended countdowns
Yet all I need is the right phase of my moon

Funny are my moon's orbits,
She shines and glows for folks unknown
While I stare at her obscuration.

My rocket's ready, so is my suit,
Yet all I can do is stare into the dark abyss
Trying to imagine just your silhouette

All I need is just a word
To start the countdown again
Traverse worlds to be with you
To hold you, to tell you
Just how much I love you.
